it will feel very snug when first try on, this is due to the black area around the lace on top of foot. it has a coating which makes it inflexible and due to it crossing over the foot on upper arch area it will feel tight. it's fine after couple minutes. this, of course, is personally preference. the length is true to size. i opted not to size up as the length is correct and i want a lengthier size. it is very comfortable around the ankle area with great support from inside and outside, esp when running side to side. luv the protective toe. the inside cushion around the ankle area are made of material that goes smooth when inserting foot in but it has traction in opposite direction. i presume it's purposely used to help from heel slip.
